FT RETAIL MANAGER & BOOKINGS COORDINATOR

an experience unlike any other! join our RETAIL TEAM TODAY!

Manager will coordinate retail staff scheduling and training, as well as up-keeping the POS system and retail inventory. Manager will also be responsible for coordinating bookings for party room rentals, private events, and field trips.  


Requirements

  • At least 18 years of age or older
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Pass a background check & drug test
  • Ability to work at least 2-3 weekends per month 
  • Excellent leadership skills 
  • Basic computer skills such as email correspondence, word, & excel 
  • Provide exceptional customer service to guests of the park 

Preferred Skills & Attributes

  • Managerial  experience in a customer service environment or other similar field 
  • Hold an associates degree or have worked in retail for at least 2 years 
  • Excellent organizational skills  
  • Ability to work as a team 
  • Complete assigned tasks with a positive attitude 
  • Demonstrate initiative and will to learn

F/PT MAINTENANCE

an experience unlike any other! join our TEAM TODAY!

Responsible for helping with maintenance and upkeep of zoo including fences, enclosures, and upkeep of all facilities. Must be comfortable around animals. Will not be required to be with animals unsupervised, but will have to work in close proximity to animals and occasionally in exhibits. 


Requirements

  • At least 18 years of age or older
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Pass a background check & drug test
  • Part time applicants must be able to work a minimum of 20 hours per week 
  • General knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, and general power tools

Preferred Skills & Attributes

  • Ability to work 25-30 hours minimum per week 
  • Small & large engine repair and maintenance
  • Welding and metal work experience 
  • Ability to drive & maneuver trailers
  • Complete assigned tasks with a positive attitude 
  • Demonstrate initiative

F/PT CUSTODIAL STAFF WITH PT RETAIL & MAINTENANCE

Positions will incorporate 3-4 hours per day performing general custodial tasks around the park. Once custodial duties are complete, staff members will then assist in either retail or maintenance duties depending on qualifications and experience. 


Requirements

  • At least 18 years of age or older
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Pass a background check & drug test
  • Part time applicants must be able to work a minimum of 20 hours per week 
  • Ability to learn quickly, multi-task, and cross train in other departments 
  • Attention to detail

SUMMER INTERNSHIP - PASTURE MANAGEMENT TEAM

an experience unlike any other! join our keeper staff as an intern or volunteer today!

Complete a summer internship with Aggieland Safari's Pasture Management Team! Applications will be accepted until all positions are filled. Internships will begin between May 25th and June 15th depending on availability of the accepted applicant. Applicants interested in a later start date are encouraged to still apply and will be considered based on program availability. Internships may be carried over into the fall semester pending supervisor review. 


Requirements

  • At least 18 years of age or older
  • Completed at least 1 year of collegiate level courses 
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Have aspirations to work in the field of ranch management or in the fields of wildlife conservation (such as a game warden), animal health, or herd/hoofstock care in a zoological institution
  • Passion for educating the public on conservation and animal welfare
  • Able to work 20 hours minimum per week for a period of 6+ weeks
  • Able to work outdoors for extended periods of time and lift heavy objects

Preferred Skills

  • Experience working with either domestic or exotic livestock 
  • Ability to work as a team 
  • Display efficiency and time management skills 
  • Complete assigned tasks with a positive attitude 
  • Demonstrate initiative and eagerness to learn

SUMMER INTERNSHIP - ANIMAL KEEPER TEAM

Complete a summer internship with Aggieland Safari's Animal Care Team! Applications will be accepted from April 26, 2020 through May 20th, 2020. Internships will begin between May 25th and June 1st depending on availability of the accepted applicant. Applications will be accepted until all positions are filled. Applicants interested in a later start date are encouraged to still apply and will be considered based on program availability. Internships may be carried over into the fall semester pending supervisor review. 


Requirements

  • At least 18 years of age or older
  • Completed at least 1 year of collegiate level courses 
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Have aspirations to work in an animal care field such as a zoological institution, wildlife conservation, animal health, etc. 
  • Passion for educating the public on conservation and animal welfare
  • Able to work 20 hours minimum per week for a period of 6+ weeks

PART TIME - EDUCATION TEAM

Applications will be accepted throughout the summer, however, applications will be reviewed for the Fall 2020 semester beginning in July 2020. 


Requirements

  • At least 18 years of age or older
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Passion for educating the public on conservation and animal welfare
  • Comfortable serving as a field trip guide for students and driving school buses through the safari park (we will train you to drive the bus if you do not have previous experience) 
  • Willingness to cross train in retail and customer service
  • Willingness to assist with coordinating field trips for Fall 2020
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Flexibility to work 15-30 hours per week 

Preferred Skills

  • Previous work history in education, childcare, or summer camps
  • Hold an active CDL
  • Basic background knowledge of various hoofstock species  
  • Ability to work as a team 
  • Complete assigned tasks with a positive attitude 
  • Demonstrate initiative and will to learn
